I'm going to talk about purses and you're going to think it has nothing to do with kids, but I promise at the end it ties together! So why do people get that offended when my response to the big question is that I don’t want to have any? I don’t berate people for having kids even though I don’t want kids myself. Some of the things said to me have been super hurtful and I’m extremely nice to kids. “What if you find the perfect man and he has/wants kids?” Then we aren’t compatible….or I get “ you’ll change your mind” or “you can still enjoy your hobbies with children” I just simply….don’t want to for a lot of reasons but saying I don’t want them should be enough. Recently I’ve noticed people are becoming so offended when I say that I don’t want kids basically telling me that I don’t know what I want. I raised my brother basically since I was 14 and I did not enjoy it having to be so responsible. The thought of motherhood had always given me crippling anxiety. I used to think I was supposed to but the older I get the more repulsed I am and decided in my early twenties that I want to be child free. I’m 27 and as the years progress people have continued to ask me about kids. I want to preface this by saying it’s not everyone.
